    Italian Blend pairs well with Buttermilk Herb and Garlic Dressing topped with oven crisped chicken, artichoke hearts, sunflower seeds and blue cheese crumbles.

    Buttermilk Herb and Garlic Dressing

    Prep: 10 min.   Makes: about 1 cup

    1/4 cup buttermilk

    1/4 cup light sour cream

    1 tablespoon finely sliced chives

    1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

    2 teaspoons cider vinegar

    1 teaspoon minced garlic

    Salt and ground black pepper, to taste

     

    • Whisk together all ingredients until blended.

    • Toss with DOLE Italian Blend to coat, as desired.  Refrigerate any remaining dressing.

    Italian Blend pairs well with Herb and Wine Vinegar Dressing and topped with grilled salmon, sliced roasted red potatoes and Parmesan cheese.

    Herb and Wine Vinegar Dressing

    Prep: 10 min.  Makes: about 1 cup

    3/4 cup olive oil

    2 tablespoons red wine vinegar

    1 tablespoon Dijon-style mustard

    1 tablespoon honey

    1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

    1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme

    1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary

    1/2 teaspoon sea salt

    1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

     

    • Whisk together all ingredients until blended.

    • Toss with DOLE Italian Blend to coat, as desired.  Refrigerate any remaining dressing.

    Italian Blend pairs well with Mango Chipotle Dressing, grilled shrimp, roasted corn, sliced avocado and black beans.

    Mango Chipotle Dressing

    Prep: 10 min.  Makes: about 1 cup

    1/4 cup olive oil

    1/4 cup finely chopped fresh mango or DOLE® Frozen Mango Chunks

    1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

    3 tablespoons light mayonnaise

    1 to 2 tablespoons lime juice

    2 to 3 teaspoons minced chipotle peppers in adobe sauce

    1 teaspoon minced garlic

    Salt and ground black pepper, to taste

     

    • Whisk together all ingredients until blended.

    • Toss with DOLE Italian Blend to coat, as desired.  Refrigerate any remaining dressing.

    Italian Blend pairs well with Sherry and Tomato Vinaigrette tossed with cucumbers, jicama, crumbled feta cheese and toasted pine nuts.

    Sherry and Tomato Vinaigrette

    Prep: 10 min.  Makes: about 1 cup

    1 cup cherry tomatoes, cut in half

    1/2 cup canola oil, divided

    2 tablespoons chopped shallot

    1 garlic clove, minced

    3 tablespoons sherry vinegar

    1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

    Salt and ground black pepper, to taste

     

    • Saute tomatoes in 1 tablespoon oil for 2 minutes.  Add shallot and garlic; sauté 2 minutes longer.

    • Combine tomato mixture, vinegar, parsley, salt and pepper in blender container.  Cover; blend until smooth.  Slowly pour remaining oil in thin stream, until blended.

    • Toss with DOLE Italian Blend to coat, as desired.  Refrigerate any remaining dressing.

  • Try with:

    Suggested dressing:

    White Balsamic Vinaigrette, grape tomatoes, shredded Asiago cheese, and a pinch of Italian herbs.

    White Balsamic Vinaigrette

    1/2 cup olive oil

    1/4 cup white balsamic vinegar

    1 Tbsp. red onion, minced

    1 Tbsp. roasted red pepper, minced

    Salt and pepper to taste

     

    • Whisk together all ingredients until blended.

    • Toss with DOLE Italian Blend.

    • Makes about 3/4 cup.

How to store

DOLE Italian Blend Salad should be kept refrigerated at home in its original bag. The bag is made of specially designed film to keep the salad fresh. Store the salad in the refrigerator crisper or drawer. Store leftovers in the original bag, tightly closed, in the refrigerator.

How to select

Purchase DOLE Italian Blend Salad in the refrigerated area of the supermarket's produce section. If salads are not kept under refrigeration, it will affect the product quality.

On the front of each package, the salad is stamped with an "ENJOY BY" date that should give you at least a few days to store after purchased. The salad is packaged in a see-through bag. When purchasing a salad, check the date stamped on the package and look at the salad to make sure it appears fresh. Do not purchase salads with a considerable number of brown-edged lettuce pieces or if the lettuce appears excessively wet.

Usage tips

DOLE Italian Blend Salad is triple washed and ready-to-eat. As a result, it is not necessary to wash the salad prior to eating. However, rinsing your salad again will not damage the lettuce in any way.
