    Aioli Dressing, grilled chicken, red seedless grapes, crumbled bacon and herb seasoned croutons.

    Aioli Dressing

    Prep:  10 min.  Makes:  about 1-1/2 cups

    1/3 cup red wine vinegar

    2 tablespoons water

    5 garlic cloves, finely minced

    1 pasteurized egg or 1/4 cup egg substitute

    1 teaspoon salt

    1/2 teaspoon sugar

    1/2 teaspoon yellow mustard

    1/3 cup olive oil

    1/3 cup vegetable oil

     

    • Combine all ingredients except oils in blender.  Cover; blend at medium speed.  Slowly add oils in thin stream, until blended.

    • Toss with DOLE Arugula to coat, as desired.  Refrigerate any remaining dressing.

  • Try with:

    Cran-Apple Salsa Dressing, smoked turkey, sweet onion, walnuts, dried cherries, and shaved Parmesan cheese.

    Cran-Apple Salsa Dressing

    Prep: 10 min.  Makes: about 1-3/4 cups

    1 can (8 oz.) jellied cranberry sauce

    1 small Granny Smith apple, cored and diced

    1/4 cup cider vinegar

    1/4 cup water

    3 tablespoons sliced green onions

    2 tablespoons chopped cilantro

    1/2 teaspoon jalapenos, minced

    1 teaspoon grated orange peel

    Salt and pepper, to taste

    • Whisk together all ingredients until blended; chill.

    • Toss with DOLE Arugula to coat, as desired.  Refrigerate any remaining dressing.

  • Try with:

    Suggested dressing:

    Sesame Orange Vinaigrette, grilled salmon, sliced red onions, and Mandarin oranges.

    Sesame Orange Vinaigrette

    Prep:  10 min.  Makes: about 1 cup

    3/4 cup rice vinegar

    3 tablespoons sugar

    1-1/2 tablespoons green onion, sliced

    1-1/2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds

    1-1/2 teaspoons chopped cilantro

    1-1/2 teaspoons sesame oil

    3/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper

    1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel

    • Whisk together all ingredients until blended; chill.

    • Toss with DOLE Arugula to coat, as desired.  Refrigerate any remaining dressing.

  • Try with:

    Sun-Dried Tomato and Lemon Aioli, grilled white fish, roasted vegetables, crumbled feta cheese and pine nuts.

    Prep: 10 min.   Makes: about 1 cup

    1/2 cup olive oil

    1/4 cup lemon juice

    1/4 cup oil packed sun-dried tomatoes, chopped

    2 tablespoons light mayonnaise

    1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil

    1 garlic clove, minced

    1/4 teaspoon salt

    1/4 teaspoon pepper

    • Whisk together all ingredients until blended; chill.

    • Toss with DOLE Arugula to coat, as desired.  Refrigerate any remaining dressing.

    I give this two stars for being fresh and having good flavor! I did not like that this arugula comes with the STEMS on every single piece. Dole is reputable enough and I expect the best from them. Leaving the stems on the arugula is unacceptable to me. The stems are tough, and not edible. I will not be purchasing anymore of this brand of arugula until I can see they have removed the stems. Many other brands of arugula I have purchased do NOT include the stems.

How to store

DOLE Arugula should be kept refrigerated at home in its original container. The container is made of specially designed plastic to keep the salad fresh. Store the salad in the refrigerator crisper or drawer. Store leftovers in the original container, tightly closed, in the refrigerator.

How to select

Purchase DOLE Arugula in the refrigerated area of the supermarket's produce section. If salads are not kept under refrigeration, it will affect the product quality.

On the front of each package, the salad is stamped with an "ENJOY BY" date that should give you at least a few days to store after purchased. The salad is packaged in a clear plastic container. When purchasing a salad, check the date stamped on the package and look at the salad to make sure it appears fresh. Do not purchase salads with a considerable number of brown-edged lettuce pieces or lettuce that appears excessively wet.

Usage tips

DOLE Arugula is washed three times and ready-to-eat. Therefore, it is not necessary to wash the salad before eating. However, rinsing your salad again will not damage the lettuce in any way.
